Vicodin and Prescription Fraud
Prescription fraud is when an individual intentionally seeks a prescription for a drug, by making up, faking, or exaggerating symptoms in order to obtain a prescription for a certain drug or type of drug. A popular drug that addicts commit prescription fraud is Vicodin. A Vicodin addict may seek a prescription from several different doctors, claim lost pills, or alter a prescription.
Committing prescription fraud is a crime punishable by the law. Prescription medicines are regulated for a reason, they can be dangerous if mis-used or used as other then prescribed.
Doctors and pharmacists are aware of prescription fraud and are obligated in the best interests of their patients to notify authorities in cases of prescription fraud. They also are aware of patients who may be taking advantage or exaggerating injuries. A prescription addiction is just as devastating and addictive as any other addiction.
